Hello, my name is Iva Griffith and the Lord has truly blessed me! I would like to take a few minutes and share with you what wonderous works the Lord has done in my life.
My husband, Bobby, and I decided to try for a baby very soon after being married. We decided to ask our Pastor and the members of our church to pray for us, since I was and still am having female problems. As soon as they finished praying for us I felt the Lord lead me to open my bible. The first two words that my eyes fell upon were Hannah Rose. The scripture was saying Hannah rose up from praying for a child, but I knew it was God showing me that I was going to have a little girl and her name would be Hannah Rose.
Bobby and I tried and tried to conceive, but every pregnancy test would read negative. We must have went through hundreds of tests. I would cry after every test wondering why these woman that abort babies could get pregnant, but I wanted a baby so bad and couldn't get pregnant. We continued to try and have the faith that one day we would have our Hannah Rose.
I had had female problems since I was a little girl, but I began to have serious problems. I started bleeding on the first day of January 1997 and I bled for 5 months without ceasing. I started to become very weak and depressed and even tried to take my own life. I thank God that the overdose that I took didn't take my life!
The very next year, in the same month, I started bleeding again. This time I had been bleeding for 4 months and began to hemorage. I had hemoraged the year before also. I decided to go to a specialist this time. She told me I was anemic from loosing so much blood. What she said next was a shock! She told me I would never have a child without fertility drugs because, I didn't produce the hormone progesterine and that I needed an hysterectomy. She told me I needed to start fertility right away. Now, here I am, only 23 years old and being told all of this. I was horrified! I left that office and never returned to her or any other specialist.
I decided to go home and pray with my husband and reach the hemline of Jesus' garment like the woman in the bible! After we prayed, my husband looked at me with tears in his eyes and said the Lord told him that I would stop bleeding tomorrow. Do You Know What Happened?
I stopped bleeding the very next day!! Praise the LORD!
About a year after my issue of blood we were in Del Rio, TN singing at a church pastored by Bro. Tommy Ball. After we finished singing, Tommy asked if he could pray for our group. After service Tommy and his wife, Tracey, came and asked me if I was wanting a child. I said yes, how did you know. That's when Tommy explained that while he was praying for me he had a vision of me holding a baby girl in my arms. He said that nothing like this had ever happened to him before. Then almost 1 year later we were in Portage, IN singing at a church and the pastor, Bro. Letner asked if he could pray for Bobby and I. You see, Bro. Letner said the Lord has giving him the gift to pray for couples who are in unity about wanting a baby and they then conceive. So, He prayed for us and said the Lord showed him that within a year I would be pregnant. Six months later I was pregnant! THANK YOU JESUS!
During my pregnancy I had some problems. I had high blood pressure and high sugar and I was on medications for both. Then about 4 months into the pregnancy I began to bleed very heavy. Bobby rushed me to the hospital where they told me I was having a miscarriage. They couldn't do an ultra sound until the next morning because it was so late and all the techs were gone for the night. Bobby kept speaking faith to me, telling me that the baby that God gave us was fine. The next morning, as they rolled me to the room for an ultra sound, Bobby pled the blood of Jesus over the door and prayed the whole time. The first thing the woman spoke to me was that my baby was fine and had a strong heartbeat. I began to cry and praise the Lord, I had the biggest smile you probably have ever seen on my face. We went home and the doctor put me on bed rest and took me off the road until I had the baby.
A few months later, Bobby and I celebrated our 5th anniversary, 2 months after that I turned 26, and then on Jan. 29, 2001, 2 weeks before my due date, the doctor told me he wanted to induce my labor because of my sugar diabetes and high blood pressure. I went in at 5:30 p.m. and by 6:00 p.m. they started to induce me. A few hours later my blood pressure started raising so they asked my family to leave the room. Then around 3:00 a.m. my water broke and the doctor came to check me. By this time I thought I was dying! He checked me and told me that the baby had flipped and went breach when my water broke and told me I needed an emergency c-section. I had to wait for 2 hours, with my contractions coming every 20-30 seconds, but then they were finally ready to do surgery. They gave me a spinal and I began to feel pretty good! Then when they went to pull my baby out, my uterus contracted on the top half of it's body and the doctor went nuts, yelling for them to put me out so my uterus would relax. They coudn't put me out because of my blood pressure, so she had to pull and pull until the baby came out. It seemed like forever before we heard a cry, but then there it was. We heard a soft cry. It was Jan. 30, 2001 at 5:31 a.m. when we received our 8 lb.1oz., 21 inch long baby girl and we called her Hannah Rose. She is truly our Little Gift from God.
